Questions from the Facebook Advertising Webinar: 5 Tips & Tricks to Better Conversion
What are some best practices for effective ad design and copy?
First of yourself as the consumer. What will catch your eye and get your attention? What will get to you from an emotional stance. That is how you should think about Facebook Advertising. Be creative!
What’s the Conversion Rate of a Facebook Ad?
This all depends on the industry and niche you’re dealing with.  It also depends on your goals.  You should think first why you want to do Facebook advertising? Is it just for brand exposure, increasing traffic to your website, or getting more fans on your Facebook Page? All these factors have a play in what your conversion rate will be.  Just make sure you’re always watching your ads and tweaking and testing as much as you can.
What’s a good Facebook Advertising Budget?
Once again it all depends on the niche and what who you’re targeting.  What you should keep in mind is that it does take patience, time and is an investment, but will benefit you in the end and will eventually turn profitable.
Which is better, Google AdWords or Facebook Advertising?
When thinking if you will do one or both, the most important thing to remember is that Google AdWords and Facebook Ads are different when it comes to intent.  Google AdWords is more for an individual specifically in the ‘search’ frame of mind and wanting to specifically look for a product.  Facebook Advertising takes place in a social network, so people who are there are not there  looking for products, they are their to catch up with friends or family or stalk their boyfriend…(just making sure you’re still awake;). Remember:
  • Facebook Ads: Great for targeting specific markets and demographic criteria
  • Google Ads: Great for targeting people with specific intent to buy

Doing both will definitely cover all your bases.

Can small businesses or niches use Facebook Advertising to benefit them?

Yes, just start slow, do your research ahead of time (as mentioned in the webinar) and remember to “babysit your ads.”

  1. Great information, Victoria! I especially appreciate the value of Facebook advertising (even just going through the ad set-up without launching an ad) for SEO and general marketing in understanding and targeting your audience and demographics. What a great research tool!
