It’s Day Two of the conference, and I’m excited to share today’s session highlights with you at the end of the day. In the meantime, I thought I’d give you a brief summary of the top tips for small- and medium-sized online marketing businesses to take advantage of SEO (search engine optimization) and drive more quality, “free” traffic to your website. The experts here gave me the inside scoop.
Here’s my (unpolished) 3-minute highlights video:
Top 3 tips for SEO for SMB online marketers
1. Local search: Take advantage of new opportunities for local business listings on Google and other search engines. Optimize your website content for each local area you serve and each location of your business.
2. Inbound links: Get more high-quality, relevant, authoritative links to your website with appropriate anchor text for your top keywords. That’s one of the main ways that your search results page rankings increase and your business gets found online.
3. Fresh, frequent content: Be more than an online brochure. You must have frequently updated, valuable, relevant articles, blog posts, images, video and other forms of content in the new world of universal search.
Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Renaissance Hotel Dallas Richardson, for great service, and especially to Nini and Ardiana in the restaurant. They actually found me wi-fi when I really needed it!
