Google Gadget to display Products on your site
Aug 03 2009
We’ve just launched a Google Gadget that you could use to display products from your Advertisers, and to offer your customers a product search box. Using the gadget is simple and it only takes a few minutes to create one. Here are the steps you’ll want to take:
- Input your token
- Choose a Title
- Choose a Headline
- Choose a keyword
- Customize the size and colors
- Choose whether you’d like to include a search box and product description
- You can include a logo image
- Get the code!
Here’s an example gadget using the keyword “calculators” (just in time for Back to School) and searching Tiger Direct -
As usual, you’ll need to have a relationship to display products from an advertiser, and the advertiser must offer a product feed.

Nice!
When I plug in a GPS unit, I get accessories coming up too. It would be nice to spec min/max prices. That would allow me to take care of that issue.
Rich,
Great idea, let me pass this on and see how we could implement it.

Linkshare webservices Product Search is very limited. Try search with SKU / Manufacturer SKU / Model Number. You will see whether it works or not. I made a gadget almost an year ago, and gave up after testing.
Yes I just listen to the recording of the over view of the dashboard. I’m sorry that I miss it. It was very interesting and very informative. I will try to make it to the next conference. I enjoy working with LinkShare.
How long does it take for gagdet to show on my homepage? I get the token info, create the widget, get the code and paste it on my site but invalid data shows up on my site.
Thanks in advance!
Love it.
Will there be a way to change font and sizes to match my site?
This is awesome.
Really useful, i’m going to implement this and thanks for the update. Looks good.

Get an “invalid token specified error” even though I entered correct token and keeps the sample “DVD Players” title.
Is this stil supported?
Hi Mike,
Yes, this is still supported. I was able to get the gadget working using my token. You could try updating the token, or selecting a different Merchant that you are approved into their program. It should work…
