The General Assembly in Nashville has introduced two affiliate tax bills, SB 1741 in the Senate and HB 1947 in the House.

This legislation could force out-of-state merchants to shut down their affiliate programs. SB 1741 was scheduled to be heard by the Senate Finance, Ways & Means Tax Subcommittee yesterday, and HB 1941 is scheduled to be heard TODAY, May 13, in the House Finance, Ways & Means Budget Subcommittee.

This impacts small Internet businesses all over the state from Johnson City to Collierville. The map below represents LinkShare affiliates presence in Tennessee.
