We recently sent a letter of opposition to the California Assembly, where we hoped to put a human face on the small CA-based businesses that would be hurt by AB 178. Below is a map that shows just how many California zip codes have LinkShare publishers in them.

As you can see below, we’ve got the state covered! We have publishers in nearly every California zip code (if you live in Los Olivos and are reading this, you can join here).

As you can see, there are entrepreneurs all over California that run small web businesses. AB 178 will mean lost revenue and lost jobs for California’s small affiliate marketing, online advertising businesses.

This is one of the best visual representations I have seen to date of the effect AB 178 will have. The thought of a massive number of newly unemployed residents should be something to consider in the tax law creation process. The trickle-down system of state after state attempting to enact “NY-ish” laws is not the answer.

This puts everything into a clear picture. This is just 1 company with affiliates in just 1 state. The lawmakers really should see this visual aid.
