Last week, over 325 people participated in LinkShare Symposium West 2009 in San Francisco.   Attendees enjoyed networking, learning, and having a little fun.  Advertisers and Publishers met to make deals, share insights, and strengthen existing partnerships.

LinkShare Co-President Jonathan Levine talks about the highlights of 2008 and a look ahead to 2009.

Co-President Yaz Ida demonstrated the blinking light that signaled a “Golden Newbie”, or first time LinkShare Symposium attendants.

Bill Tancer then spoke about how online data can be mined to unlock unexpected insights that lead to better decision making (prom dresses searches in January…who knew?).   Next up was TrendWatch where David Ginsberg from Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, Inc (PSB) talked about “Recession Shoppers” and their shopping behavior in uncertain financial times (hint: think deals and coupons).

The theme of the afternoon was getting deals done.   DealMaker offered a great opportunity for publishers and advertisers to meet face to face, understand each others business, and uncover new ways to drive revenue.

Symposium West 2009 ended with a night of drinks, food, and fun at the Fluid Lounge.  You can see a few more pictures on Flickr.

A special thanks to all of our sponsors for making LinkShare Symposium West 2009 a great success!
