Along with our new blog, we thought it would make sense to talk about a new blogger tool from LinkShare – a WordPress plug-in called LinkShare RSS DealFeed.

WordPress is software that makes it easy for people to quickly and easily create a professional looking blog. WordPress offers a directory of plug-ins. “Plug-ins” are mini-applications that allow WordPress users to enhance their blogs in a wide variety of ways.

RSS DealFeed is a WordPress plug-in that utilizes the LinkShare RSS feed web service. Publishers enter their LinkShare web services token in the WordPress interface, and select the advertiser feeds that they’d like to promote.

DealFeed then displays RSS posts from LinkShare advertisers in your sidebar. Here’s an example:

Our goal is to make it easier for WordPress users to integrate LinkShare links, and for advertisers to gain distribution on WordPress sites.

If you are an advertiser and offer RSS feeds, this is a great way to gain distribution. If you don’t have RSS feeds set up yet, now is a great time to start!

If you are a publisher and use WordPress, download the DealFeed plug-in and follow the instructions on this page.

I have not been able to get this plugin to work with more than one advertiser feed at a time. No doubt my inexperience, or maybe a limitation of the tool. Thus I tried to get the WordPress plugin “Admix” to work, as it suggests that multiple advertiser feeds can be displayed. I have not been sussessful getting even one feed to display with Admix. I wish there was more help for beginners out there somewhere, but I have not beeb able to find it.

    Hi Michael,

We will look into the multiple feeds issue.

It’s a good ideas to preview the feeds you are trying to set up on this page – http://cli.linksynergy.com/cli/publisher/links/dataFeeds.php?subpage=RSS

Also remember you need to be approved into the Merchant program in order to display their RSS feed content.
